2021 Emerging Variety Wine Challenge – SILVER medal

QWine Reviews – Andy Williams’s exploration of emerging varieties is quite exciting. His plans for the future are worth sticking around for too. Watch this space. This Touriga is an impressive number sure to please.
Sourced from the Riverland, pretty aromas of red cherries, black plum skin and purple flowers diffuse from the glass ever so elegantly. Give it time and a day on lavender just beams.
Time is the secret with this one though. Initially, the alcohol comes across a little warm and takes the gloss off the fruit. It feels a bit raw at the same time. A day on and wow! It found its groove and reaches out to claw at your heart. Now silky smooth, it’s almost as though the wet weather tyres have been changed for slicks. Gliding through the mouth, soft spices purr. Red apple acidity gives some crunch as the fruit continues to sing. Be sure to decant this to see it at its best.
Would I buy it? Knowing what I do now, absolutely.”
