The first day of the symposium was packed with invigorating talks, debates and tastings – including an exciting walkaround tasting where MW winemakers showed the wines they are most proud of! Andrew selected the Viognier 2022, Syrah 2021 and Shiraz Nouveau 2021 to be showcased and had a great time chatting to the 500 + crowd about emerging Queensland wine industry.English wine writer Jancis Robinson MW tasted the wines and remarked that she particularly liked the 21 Syrah.

"Great wine with a fun story behind it - I tasted this surprisingly fresh Viognier along with an awesome Syrah and then in the bus this MW sits in front of me and asks what my highlight of the tasting was. I told him 'this great Viognier from Australia....' he put his akubra hat on which made me recognise him as the producer/part owner and he says, 'thanks!' -Eduardo Araujo (Sommelier)
